What makes Seattle houses different for windows?
- Older homes. Craftsman, Tudor and mid-century houses often have non-standard openings and original trim worth keeping. Built-to-measure windows fit the opening instead of forcing it to a stock size (no custom-size upcharge, because every window is made to order), and the Simulated double-hung windows keeps the traditional look.
- Mid-century sliders. Many 1950s–70s homes still have original aluminum sliders, often the first windows people replace. See Window replacement in Seattle.
- DADUs and ADUs. Backyard cottages and additions need windows that meet the energy code on a modest budget. See new construction & ADUs.
- View homes. Hillside and waterfront houses take wind-driven rain. We pay extra attention to flashing and sill pans, and to large, heavy glass.
- Noise. Near busy roads and flight paths, acoustic glass is often the first conversation. See glass & options.
