Questions about European windows

What is a tilt-and-turn window?
An inward-opening window with one handle that either tilts the top of the sash in for ventilation or swings the whole sash in like a door. Guide
Are tilt-and-turn windows secure?
Yes. They lock at multiple points around the sash, and the tilt position stays locked at the bottom. Lockable handles are available.
Are they safe with children?
Lockable handles, restrictors and tilt-before-turn hardware limit opening on many systems. Ask us at the consultation.
Do they have screens?
Yes. Screens mount on the outside because the sash opens inward: fixed, flex or pleated, and retractable screens for sliding doors.
Can blinds be used?
Yes, choose blinds mounted on the sash or above the frame so the sash can tilt.
Do they meet egress code?
A turned sash opens wide; bedroom windows are sized for egress. We check sizes for each sleeping room.
Are your windows triple-pane?
Most of what we supply is triple-pane; double is available where it makes sense.
Are your windows NFRC certified?
Five of our systems are NFRC certified: P-300, P-700, MB-79N Pro, SlimLine Elite and Synergic. For the others, ask us for current NFRC status for your project. Your quote lists the rated values for each window.
What U-factor do your windows have?
Our systems start from about 0.14–0.16 Btu/h·ft²·°F in their best configuration. Your quote lists the value for each window.
How much do they reduce noise?
Up to about 45–48 dB with acoustic glass, on the European Rw scale (not directly comparable to US STC). Glass options
Will they help with condensation?
Triple glazing and warm-edge spacers keep the inner glass warmer, which reduces condensation. Indoor humidity matters too.
How much do European windows cost?
It depends on the system, size, glass and installation. We give itemized quotes after measuring.
How long does it take from order to install?
About 3–4 months from order. Every window and door is made to order in Europe and shipped by sea freight. Repair parts are faster, usually under a month.
Do you charge extra for custom sizes?
No. European windows have no standard catalog sizes; every window is built to order for its opening, so there's no custom-size upcharge.
What warranty do you offer?
A 20-year limited manufacturer warranty and a 3-year installation warranty. See warranty terms for details.
Where are the windows made?
