MB-Ferroline Pro steel-look window

Aluminum · No. 04 · Heritage

The steel window, rebuilt for a wet climate.

U-factor from 0.14 · RC2 security option · Steel look

Black steel windows with thin bars are one of the best-looking things you can put in a wall, and one of the worst performers in a Seattle winter: cold frames, condensation, rust. MB-Ferroline Pro keeps the look and drops the problems. It's thermally broken aluminum, shaped to imitate steel sections, built on the technical base of the MB-86 system.

Two profiles, two characters

  • Ferroline Industrial: narrow and lean, the look of factory and loft windows.
  • Ferroline Steel-look: a wider, stepped face that gives the impression of depth, like traditional rolled-steel sections.

Divided lites, slim mullions and dark finishes complete the look.

Made for renovation

Renovation frames let new windows go in over the old frame without tearing out the surrounding wall, so plaster and masonry stay intact. The visible frame width is tuned so the new window looks close to the original from outside. Ask us whether a renovation frame suits your house.

Everyone loves the steel look until they see the condensation. This is the fix.

Performance behind the look

Two thermal levels (ST and SI), glass up to 61.5 mm, windows up to about 9.5 feet tall, and burglar resistance up to RC2 class (a European security class). It opens inward (turn, tilt, tilt-and-turn) or outward (side-hung or top-hung), or stays fixed.

MB-Ferroline Pro specifications

Why choose it: most convincing steel look in our range · renovation frames · inward or outward opening.

Trade-offs: costs more than plain aluminum · bars and divided lites add cost and some frame area · NFRC rating: ask us for current status for your project.
